In Situ Formation of Nanoparticles on Carbon Nanofiber Surface Using Ceramic Intercalating Agents

چکیده
Nickel silicide nanoparticles were prepared in situ on carbon nanofibers through pyrolysis of electrospun fibers containing poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN, fiber precursor), silazane (SiCN ceramic and nickel chloride (nickel source). SiCN ceramics produced during the expanded graphitic interlayer spacing facilitated diffusion metal atoms to surfaces, leading formation at a reduced temperature. In addition, catalyzed an nanotubes, with sourced from decomposition silazane. The method introduces simple route produce supported for catalysis energy storage applications.

In situ formation of silver nanoparticles in linear and branched polyelectrolyte matrices using various reducing agents
Silver nanoparticles were synthesized in linear and branched polyelectrolyte matrices using different reductants and distinct synthesis conditions. The effect of the host hydrolyzed linear polyacrylamide and star-like copolymers dextran-graft-polyacrylamide of various compactness, the nature of the reductant, and temperature were studied on in situ synthesis of silver sols. The related nanosyst...
متن کاملIn Situ Formation of SiC/CNT Ceramic Nanocomposite by Phenolic Pyrolysis
In this research, using pyrolysis of phenolic resin in the presence of silicon particles, the SiC ceramic composite is formed. The samples were prepared by introducing 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 wt% of Si particles to the phenolic resin. The samples were cured at 180°C then carbonized at 1100°C. The final carbonized C/Si composites are hot-pressed at 1500°C in inert atmosphere, which is more than th...
متن کاملMechanism of electron beam radiation damage on carbon nanofiber surface
This study explored the use of a high energy electron beam as the only available technique for selective area surface modification of carbon nanofibers through controlled parameters such as radiation dose, sample temperature, and environment. The application of this variable space led to the production of unique morphological features on the nanofiber surfaces. Transmission Electron Microscopy ...
متن کاملEffect of surface carbon coating on sintering of silver nanoparticles: in situ TEM observations.
In this work, in situ transmission electron microscopy heating has been used to investigate the effects of a carbon capping layer on sintering of silver nanoparticles. For the first time, we make direct and real-time measurements of surface diffusivity of silver in nanoparticles coated with carbon. We observe that the carbon surface coatings may significantly inhibit sintering in silver nanopar...
متن کاملEnhancing steel properties through in situ formation of ultrahard ceramic surface
Abrasion and corrosion resistant steel has attracted considerable interest for industrial application as a means of minimising the costs associated with product/component failures and/or short replacement cycles. These classes of steels contain alloying elements that increase their resistance to abrasion and corrosion. Their benefits, however, currently come at a potentially prohibitive cost; s...
